. there's a front. dallas 78. the front responsible for all the showers from eastern colorado to the texas panhandle all the way up toward wisconsin now. some of these showers head toward chicago. i don't think they'll get out of the 60s there today. around here we're on the warm side of things. so that's why we're going to make the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. as lieu at the future cast, the fog will burn off. could be a sprinkle late this afternoon near virginia beach or so or in the mountains. and it looks like that front out west gets here friday night, really overnight into saturday morning. so there could be an isolated shower then. other than that, the rain holds off for several more days. great this afternoon, 83 at national. many areas closer to 80. tonight we're back down in the 50s and 60s with maybe a touch of fog, light winds. tomorrow 83. a few more clouds. saturday 79. early shower not out of the question saturday. it will be sporadic. sunday 77 and into late monday, tuesday, rain chances increase. 5:48. here comes monika samtani with timesaver traffic. things are unfort

into texas panhandle history. i found that very interesting, and then later, the second half of the book, norfleet goes to denver, and denver is a fixed uptown where the swiped leers basically control everything, and there's many overlapping teams of swindlers swiped ling marks all at the same time. it's incredible. i went deep into that history as well because how did that town of anywhere become this safe place for swindling? there's a specific answer to do with denver history, but that had to be shortened. in terms of norfleet's story, absolutely. his autobiography is packed with various story lines, and i had to pair it down bus my book would be as long as his plus three more at least. he, you know, i don't think i'm spoiling anything by saying he does eventually get the swindlers, but there's many twists and turns along the way. he didn't have an editor, so i was doing that telling the story. there were parts he didn't know. when he dwoaz after joe, the -- goes after joe, the ring leader, he finally gets him, but the story after joe goes to jail is great. that's not in his story. he

stringing from the great lakes back down through central east texas, into florida also with showers there but across a good stretch of the west coast, quiet conditions and fire weather concerns across portions of montana and breezy from the panhandle through new mexico and gusty easterly, upwards of 30 miles an hour. a lot of sunshine in place for a few areas will start to see a co cooldown once we get into the weekend, los angeles, you for today and tomorrow, temperatures in the 90s, upper 90s, close to the 100-degree mark. not too much in the way of clouds. i did mention the fire danger, of course, look at some of the red flag warnings across the cast indicates expire earlier on this morning. some of those through western montana go at least through the evening. be careful out there. fire danger concerns last couple of weeks on and off and certainly something to keep in mind especially after the season we've had so far. temperatures outside, 68 in l.a. 81 in phoenix and as i mentioned later on this afternoon a big warm-up in l.a. up in the 80s and 90s. once you get in the week a c
